Yellow-headed Blackbird

On 9 March 2000, Alex Pirko discovered a singing male Yellow-headed Blackbird (Xanthocephalus xanthocephalus) at Van Cortlandt Lake in Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. The bird was seen briefly a few days later coming into the evening blackbird roost at the lake but not subsequently relocated. Photograph copyright of Alex Pirko © 2000
